Open Audacity and in preferences, look under Devices and choose Soundflower (2ch) from the Recording Devices drop-down menu. To make a clean recording, also turn off all sound effects here in the Sound preferences. Note that once you do this you will no longer be able to hear a sound. Has to be a way to trick the microphone input to be routed to whatever sounds coming from my computer or something? Not sure. Soundflower (2ch) is fine for most purposes. Is there any way I can play music off my laptop (spotify, itunes, whatever) and somehow route it into lightstream? Or do any of the 3rd party apps Lightstream supports allow this? I looked thru the knowledge base on Lightstream and didn't seem to see anything but I'm not the best with computer related stuff. I see in Lightstream there is an "Audio Mixer" section in the bottom left. I've seen older posts about this not being possible, but with the addition of Lightstream maybe this is possible. Now any sound you play off your computer (spotify/itunes/whatever) will be routed into your stream! Select Soundflower 2ch as the microphone. Now go into Lightstream and add a new microphone. Then Under Output Also select Soundflower 2ch. This adds the routing I was talking about below. I figured it out myself! So pumped this is possible now without needing new hardware. I created a Multi-Output Device using the Audio Midi Setup. Click on the name Aggregate Device and rename it RR+Soundflower. I have Soundflower installed and it works fine. Click the + icon at the bottom left and select Create Aggregate Device.
